Het ontwerp van deze mand is geïnspireerd op traditionele verhalen over de planten en dieren van het Okavangogebied in Botswana. De mand is gemaakt van waaier-palmbladeren (mokola) en bewerkt met natuurlijke kleurstoffen uit wortels en bast. De manden van Botswana behoren tot de meest verfijnde manden van Afrika.

Aan deze grote mand is meer dan 5 maanden gewerkt. Hij is steek voor steek geweven door Numba Makushe. De mand is uniek en u ontvangt de mand die hier is afgebeeld.

The design of this basket has been inspired upon traditional stories of the fascinating plants, animals and people that inhabit the Okavango region in Botswana. Botswana baskets are made from Mokola palm leaves and their colours are derived from natural dyes extracted from roots and bark. These baskets represent some of Africa’s most exquisite and culturally significant art forms.

This basket took more than five months to weave. It has been made by an exquisite weaver named Numba Makushe.

The basket is unique. You’ll receive the basket shown in the photograph.
